Hot Stove, Cool Music announces lineup for 2010 benefit

Organizers for the annual “Hot Stove, Cool Music” have announced plans for the show’s tenth anniversary celebration. The show will move from its normal home at the Paradise Rock Club to the more expansive House of Blues on Saturday, January 9.

This year’s show will feature a pair of new headliners in hometown favorites State Radio and power-pop supergroup Tinted Windows (comprised of Hanson’s Taylor Hanson, Fountains of Wayne’s Adam Schlesinger, Smashing Pumpkin’s James Iha and Cheap Trick’s Bun E. Carlos). The show will also feature Providence’s The Low Anthem (Boston Music Award winners for this year’s Album of the Year), Kay Hanley of Letters to Cleo, of course ESPN’s Peter Gammons and his Hot Stove, Cool Music All-Stars featuring Red Sox GM Theo Epstein, the Dropkick Murphys’ Ken Casey, Buffalo Tom’s Bill Janovitz and Cincinnati Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo. New Hampshire-bred actor Mike O’Malley will once again serves as host and emcee.

Tickets for the benefit concert are $40 and will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. All proceeds will go directly to Theo and Paul Epstein’s Foundation To Be Named Later’s, a branch of the Red Sox Foundation, which benefits a variety of non-profit partners including Roxbury Youthworks, West End House Boys and Girls Club, BELL, City Year, Citizen Schools, Room To Grow, Steps To Success, The Home for Little Wanderers, Horizons for Homeless Children and Molo Care. Since its inception, the Hot Stove Cool Music series has raised more than $2 million for the Jimmy Fund and the Foundation To Be Named Later.

Prior to the concert, the Hot Stove crew will host a Sports Roundtable at Fenway Park from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The discussion will moderated by Peter Gammons and feature special guests Theo Epstein (of the Boston Red Sox), Terry Francona (of the Boston Red Sox) Omar Minaya (of the New York Mets), Carlos Peña (of the Tampa Bay Rays) and Bronson Arroyo (of the Cincinnati Reds). A limited amount of tickets will be available for $100 and light refreshments will be served.
