Guster set to play Providence

Guster have announced plans for a fall tour that will include a stop at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island on Saturday, October 30. Tickets for the show, which are priced at $25.50 and $35, are on sale now through etix.com.

The Boston-bred band will be touring in support of their upcoming album, Easy Wonderful, which hit stores on October 5. The new album is the band’s sixth studio effort and fist in four years. It also marks their first set of new material since all three founding members – Ryan Miller (guitar/vocals), Adam Gardner (guitar/vocals), Brian Rosenworcel (percussion) – became first-time fathers in 2008.

Easy Wonderful was initially recorded in New York, but then moved to multi-instrumentalist Joe Pasapia’s brand new Middletree Studios in Nashville – a move that was liberating for the band. “We’d been in this basement studio in New York City, cramped in this space with no windows that we jokingly called ‘The Dungeon’,” recalled Gardner in a press release. “Joe’s place is totally the opposite, this stunning open-concept studio that has a great vibe…There was an immense feeling of freedom the moment we left New York and started recording in Nashville.”

“Do You Love Me” and “Bad Bad World”, two new tracks off Easy Wonderful, are now streaming on Guster’s MySpace. The band will also perform at the Life is good Festival at Blue Hills in Canton on Sunday, September 12.
