The Allamn Brothers have yet to make plans for New England before their retirement from the road later this year, but frontman Gregg Allman will make several stops throughout the region on a tour of his own this summer. The legendary rocker will deliver two performances in Massachusetts before completing the tour in Rhode Island.

Allman will first perform at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis on Friday, August 8. Tickets for the show are available through the venue’s box office and website for $42 and $62. The following night, Alllman will travel north to Lowell for a performance at Boarding House Park. General admission tickets are available through the Lowell Summer Music Series website for $44.

The series of New England concerts will conclude in Newport, Rhode Island when Allman performs at the Newport Yachting Center on Saturday, August 10. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $29.50 to $59.50, are now on sale through Ticketmaster.

Earlier this year, an all-star cast of musicians joined forces for a special tribute concert to Allman at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Among the many performers at the January 14 concert were Vince Gill, Eric Church, Jackson Browne, Dr. John, Susan Tedeschi, Keb Mo, Robert Randolph, John Hiatt, Martina McBride and Trace Adkins. The concert was recorded and filmed for the recently released CD/DVD All My Friends: Celebrating The Songs and Voice of Gregg Allman.

Allman released Low Country Blues, his first solo release in 14 years, in 2011. Produced by T Bone Burnett, the album is comprised of twelve songs by legendary blues artists such as Muddy Waters, BB King, Buddy Guy and Magic Sam. Low Country Blues features Dr. John on piano, guitarist Doyle Bramhall II, bassist Dennis Crouch and drummer Jay Bellerose.

Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, featuring The Allman Brothers founding member and drummer/percussionist Jai Johanny Johanso, will open the shows in Lowell and Newport.
