Gregg Allman cancels Massachusetts shows

, Staff

Gregg Allman has canceled his upcoming late summer tour, including a pair of Massachusetts shows. Due to illness, Allman will no longer perform at the Lowell Summer Music Series on August 30 and the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis on August 31. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.

Allman, upon his doctor’s orders, is canceling his tour from August 26 through September 15. In June, Allman had to cancel several dates at the end of his European tour due to an upper respiratory condition. According to an official statement by Allman’s managment, “His doctor hoped that with rest, he’d get better, but unfortunately the issue has persisted. Treatment is going to involve several days of hospitalization and 4 to 6 weeks of bed rest at home.”
