Gov’t Mule will return to the road this fall for further touring. The longtime jam band favorites led by singer/guitarist Warren Haynes will hit Boston for a performance at the Orpheum Theatre on Friday, October 26. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $30 and $35.

On October 16, Gov’t Mule will release the first installment in their “Bootleg Series”. The Georgia Bootleg Box is a 6-disc set capturing a 3-night run from Georgia in 1996. The shows were recorded live at The Georgia Theater in Athens, The Roxy in Atlanta and Elizabeth Reed Music Hall in Macon. The box features the band’s original trio of Warren Haynes (vocals/guitar), Matt Abts (drums) and Allen Woody (bass) and guest appearances by a young Derek Trucks and Tinsley Ellis.

“I was instantly taken with the visceral nature of the music along with the rawness of the way they were captured,” said Haynes of when he recently rediscovered the recordings after fifteen years in a press release. “This was at a time in our career when our repertoire was small but constantly growing, not unlike our fan base.”

Meanwhile, the band continue to work on their ninth studio album. No release date for the follow-up to 2009’s By a Thread has been announced.
