Gordon Lightfoot will return to the road later this month for a tour of the East Coast. The veteran singer-songwriter will make his way to Massachusetts for a show at the Zeiterion Theatre in New Bedford on Sunday, March 27. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $38 to $52.50, are now on sale through the venue’s box office and website.

Lightfoot, 72, is regarded as one of the most influential folk-pop artists of the 1960’s and 70’s. The Canadian legend has won 15 Juno Awards and is a member of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. In 2003, he was made a Companion of the Order of Canada, the country’s highest civilian honor.

Prior to the show in New Bedford, Lightfoott will play the Colonial Theatre in Keene, New Hampshire on March 26. Other New England dates include Torrington, Connecticut on March 28 and Portland, Maine on March 29.

There will be a noticeable absence at the upcoming shows after the death of guitarist Terry Clements, a Detroit native who played with Lightfoot for 40 years. Clements died on on February 20, 10 days after suffering a stroke. He was 63. “He was always so creative, yet never repetitive, his style inhabiting the music, never seeming to be added on as an afterthought, but instead always feeling like a part of the fabric of the song,” read a statement on Lightfoot’s website.
