Some of the biggest names in hard rock will hit the Boston area this summer when the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival rolls into the Comcast Center. Scheduled for Friday, July 22, the fourth installment of the traveling festival will feature headliners Godsmack, Disturbed and Megadeth. They’ll be joined by Machine Head, In Flames, Trivium, and Suicide Silence amongst others. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $25.25 to $69.75, will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

“Strap yourself in and hold on tight, ’cause this ride goes reeeeeal fassst’,” stated Godsmack’s Sully Erna in a press release.

Dave Mustaine of Megadeth added, “This is going to be a helluva hot summer, and you can get ready for true Mayhem this year.”

“Disturbed is looking forward to being part of the biggest summer tour in the U.S. this year,” said Disturbed guitarist Dan Donnegan. “It’s been years since we shared the stage with Godsmack and we’ve been wanting to team up with them and join forces for a longtime. Megadeth has been a big inspiration to us and we are looking forward to the other bands rounding out what seems to be a solid bill.”

The show will serve as a homecoming for Boston’s Godsmack, who continue to tour in support of their 2010’s The Oracle. The album, the band’s fifth studio effort and first since 2006’s IV, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.

Disturbed are also backing a new album with 2010’s Asylum, while Megadeth’s last studio release was 2009’s Endgame.

Aside from the music, the Mayhem Festival will also feature an array of activities including the Rockstar Metal Mulisha Jump Team, “The World’s Greatest Freestyle Motocross Team”.
