Glen Campbell to bring final tour to New England

Glen Campbell has revealed plans to bring his final tour to New England for three shows in 2012, including one in Boston. The country music legend, who announced in June that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease six months earlier, will perform at the Wilbur Theatre on Thursday, February 23. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $35 and $55.

Prior to the Boston show, Campbell will his “Goodbye” tour to the Hanover Theatre in Worcester, Massachusetts on Wednesday, January 11. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $37 to $57, are now on sale through the venue’s box office and website.

He’ll also perform at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on Friday, February 24 with special guest Ronnie Mislap. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $30.

“I still love making music,” explained Campbell in a press release. “And I still love performing for my fans. I’d like to thank them for sticking with me through thick and thin.”

Campbell will be touring in support of his brand new album, Ghost on the Canvas. Released at the end of August, the album debuted at #24 on the Billboard 200 and #6 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart. The video for the title track is streaming below. Campbell is joined by three of his children – Ashley, Shannon and Cal – in the video, which also features special guest Paul Westerberg, who penned the song.
