After bidding farewell to New England earlier this year, Glen Campbell has announced plans to extend his “Goodbye” tour and return for another show in Boston this fall. The legendary country singer, who diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2011, will perform at the Wilbur Theatre on Wednesday, October 17. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster for $50 and $70.

Campbell continues to tour in support of his new album, Ghost on the Canvas. Released last August, the album debuted at #24 on the Billboard 200 and #6 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart. The video for single “A Better Place” is streaming below.

The Boston show announcement comes at the same time of Campbell’s cancellation of his tour to Australia and New Zealand next month. According to his representatives, Campbell is comfortable with tour travel and performances but is unable to complete the long flight from Los Angeles to Autralia and New Zealand.

On tour, Campbell’s backing band features current wife Kim as well as three of his children Ashley, Shannon and Cal of the band Instant People.

Earlier this year, Campbell hit several New England towns on his “Goodbye” tour including Boston, Worcester and Uncasville, Connecticut.
