Girl Talk gives away new album, plots tour

Greg Gillis, better known as Girl Talk, has revealed plans to tour behind his new album, which he is now giving away for free. The electronic artist know for his incredible mashups and sampling will perform at Boston’s House of Blues on Saturday, February 26. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Live Nation for $25 and $35.

Fans can now download Girl Talk’s new album All Day for free through his Illegal Art label’s website. He stresses that “there are no strings attached to this free download – no email address needed, no potential donation, or anything of that nature, and it will remain this way indefinitely” .

All Day
, his fifth album, clocks in at 71 minutes and includes over 373 samples. The album is being called his “most epic, densely layered, and meticulously composed musical statement to date”. It follows his previously acclaimed albums, 2008’s Feed the Animals and 2006’s Night Ripper.

In related news, Girl Talk is planning on releasing a new short film, Girl Talk NYE Chicago. The film documents his New Year’s Eve show in Chicago, where he performed on an elaborate stage that resembled a house with various room. The stage took over four days to be constructed and the show was filmed with multiple HD cameras. For a sneak peak, check out the trailer below.
