Gillian Welch has revealed dates for a fall tour in support of her new album, The Harrow & The Harvest. The singer/songwriter and her guitarist David Rawlings, who met at Berklee College of Music, will return to Boston for a show at the Wilbur Threatre on Thursday, October 27. Tickets are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $30.

The Harrow & The Harvest hit stores in June, a full eight years after Welch’s previous release, 2003’s Soul Journey. The album, her fifth studio effort, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Folk Albums chart and #20 on the Billboard 200.

“I was sick of all the time we’d taken to write the record,” Welch said in a recent interview with American Songwriter. “I’m really happy that we didn’t release any kind of hodgepodge effort that spans the years. It really represents a concise, creative chunk of time.” The Grammy Award-winner also emphasized that The Harrow & The Harvest was a cooperative effort between her and Rawlings. “It was just this endless back-and-forth between the two of us,” she said. “It’s our most intertwined, co-authored, jointly-composed album.”

The Harrow & The Harvest, which features ten new songs was recorded at Welch’s Woodland Sound Studios in Nashville, Tennessee and was produced by Rawlings.
