Gary Clark Jr. plans two-night stand at Royale

Hot after joining The Rolling Stones on stage at the TD Garden earlier this month, Gary Clark Jr. has announced plans for a fall tour that will include a special two-night stand in Boston. The guitar virtuoso will perform at Royale on Sunday, November 10 and Monday, November 11. Tickets for each of the shows will go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster for $29.50.

Released in October, Blak and Blu was recorded in California and co-produced by Clark with Mike Elizondo (Mastodon, Fiona Apple) and Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance). It features singles “Ain’t Messin ‘Round” and “Numb” (streaming below). In addition to twelve of Clark’s original compositions, teh album also offers a combined cover of Little Johnny Taylor’s “If You Love Me Like You Say” (popularized by Albert Collins) and Jimi Hendrix’s “Third Stone From The Sun”.

Clark performs guitar, vocals and trumpet on Blak and Blu with support from from drummer J.J. Johnson, keyboardist Zac Rae, and Elizondo on bass on many of the tracks.

Most recently, Clark collaborated with The Dream on “Too Early” as part of the rapper’s forthcoming album IV Play.
