Garbage to play Boston’s House of Blues

Garbage have revealed plans to return to the road this spring for a nationwide tour as they continue to promote their first new album in seven years, Not Your Kind Of People. The alt-rock veterans, who reunited in 2010, will make their way to Boston for a performance at the House of Blues on Tuesday, March 26. Tickets for the show, which will also feature openers IO Echo, are now on sale through Live Nation for $35 and $49.50.

Not Your Kind Of People, Garbage’s fifth studio album and first since 2005’s Bleed Like Me, was released last May. It reached #13 on the Billboard 200 and $10 on the UK’s Top Albums chart. The new album marked the end to Garbage’s lengthy hiatus as original members Shirley Manson (vocals), Steve Marker (guitars, keyboards), Duke Erikson (guitars, keyboards) and Butch Vig (drums, loops) reunited to work on the new material in 2010.  Not Your Kind Of People features singles “Blood For Poppies”, “Big Bright World” (video is streaming below) and “Control”.

Garbage’s last show in the area was a sold out gig at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club last May.
