Galactic, Trombone Shorty to jazz up the ‘Dise

, Staff

Galactic and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue have made plans for a special co-headlining tour this winter. The two will hit Boston with special guests Cyril Neville (of The Neville Brothers) and Corey Henry (of Rebirth Brass Band) for a night at the Paradise Rock Club on Friday, February 25. Tickets are currently on sale through Ticketmaster for $28.

The sound of New Orleans will fill the ‘Dise all night, with each of the artists hailing from “The Big Easy”. Both Galactic and Trombone Shorty are touring in support of albums released in the past year. Galactic’s Ya-Ka-May, released last February, was the group’s first to crack the US charts. While Trombone Shorty’s Backatown, his first major label release, reached #1 on the Billboard Magazine’s Contemporary Jazz Chart.

Fans can expect plenty of collaborations as these artists have all worked together in the past including several recordings from the 2010 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
