Galactic make special plans for Boston show

Continuing their promotion of Carnivale Electricos, Galactic will return to the road this spring. Joined by special guests Toots and The Maytals, the pride of New Orleans will perform at Boston’s House of Blues on Friday, April 12, Tickets for the show, which will also feature New England’s own Nigel Hall, are available through Live Nation for $27.50 and $45.

Carnivale Electricos, Galactic’s seventh studio effort and follow-up to 2010’s Ya-Ka-May, was released in February of 2012. The album features collaborations with guest artists Mystikal, Mannie Fresh, Al “Carnival Time” Johnson, Cyril & Ivan Neville, Moyseis Marques and more. The video for lead single “Hey Na Na” (featuring David Shaw and Maggie Koerner) is streaming below.

Toots & The Maytals’s most recent release was 2012’s Unplugged on Strawberry Hill. The album captures twelve iconic tracks recorded during a live acoustic performance in Jamaica‚Äôs Blue Mountains. In October, frontman Frederick Hibbert received the distinguished Order of Jamaica national award. The distinction is the second highest honor conferred in Jamaica and bestows the title “Honourable Frederick ‘Toots’ Hibbert” as a member of an exclusive national honors club, which includes musical peers Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Jimmy Cliff.
