Furthur to take a swing at McCoy Stadium

Road warriors Furthur will hit the pavement again this summer. Led by former Grateful Dead members Phil Lesh & Bob Weir, the band will return to New England for a special show in Rhode Island. Furthur will headline McCoy Stadium, home of the Pawtucket Red Sox, on Thursday, July 5. Tickets for the show, which are priced at $56.50, are now on sale through the team’s box office and website.

All tickets will be general admission as fans will be able to sit in the McCoy Stadium seating bowl and be allowed on the field. Children, aged 12 and under, will get in free with each adult ticket holder.

Fans, new and old, can expect Lesh and Weir to “furthur” explore some of the Grateful Dead’s classic songs with an all-star band that includes keyboardist Jeff Chimenti (RatDog), drummer Joe Russo (Benevento – Russo Duo, Trey Anastasio), guitarist John Kadlecik (Dark Star Orchestra) and vocalists Sunshine Becker and Jeff Pehrson.

The band was last in the area last month, when they performed a two-night stand at the Citi Wang Theatre.
