Flogging Molly have revealed plans for their 9th annual “Green 17” tour. The Los Angeles-based Irish punk rockers will hit Boston for a performance at the House of Blues on Friday, February 1. Tickets for the concert will go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation for $29.50 and $39.50. Skinny Lister and David Hause will open the show.

Speed Of Darkness, Flogging Molly’s fifth studio effort and follow-up to 2008’s Float, debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200 after its release in May of 2011. Produced by Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Avett Brothers), it was recorded at Echo Mountain, an old church building turned recording studio in Asheville, North Carolina.

Most recently, the band recorded a rendition of Bob Dylan’s “The Times Are a-Changin'” for the album Chimes Of Freedom: The Songs Of Bob Dylan, celebrating Amnesty International’s 50th Anniversary. A video of the recording is streaming below.

The “Green 17” tour was born in 2004 as a countdown to St. Patrick‚Äôs Day with a performance and celebration in each city leading to the holiday.
