After months of speculation, Fleetwood Mac have confirmed they will return for a world tour in 2013. The classic rock favorites will launch a tour of North America in Columbus and make their way to Massachusetts for a performance at Boston’s TD Garden on Thursday, April 18. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $49.50 to $149.50, will go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

The current Fleetwood Mac lineup includes Mick Fleetwood and John McVie – both original members since 1967, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks who joined the band in 1975.

“Having started Fleetwood Mac with John McVie in 1967, it has always been so gratifying that despite the various incarnations, the band has survived,”commented Fleetwood in a press release. “Throughout the years, though, the one thing that has remained constant is our fans. I am looking forward to getting back behind the kit, reconnecting with the fans and sharing the stage with my fellow band members.”

“After spending four days at Lindsey’s house working on music and one really fun day doing a crazy photo session, I am quite excited about next year,” said Nicks. “Everything seems to be falling into place.  2013 looks like the ‘year of Fleetwood Mac.'”

“I’m really looking forward to hitting the road with Stevie, Mick and John in 2013, added Buckingham. “It’s been over three years since we’ve toured together and happily the break allowed me to explore a lot of uncharted territory as well as experience tremendous growth creatively. I’m excited to bring that back to the band. When everyone in FM wants the same thing at the same time, it’s cause for celebration. Long Live Fleetwood Mac!”

“I’m really looking forward to going back on the road,” said McVie.

The new tour also marks the 35th anniversary of the release of their classic Rumours album (1977), one of the most successful albums in recorded history with sales exceeding 40 million copies. To coincide with the tour and anniversary, the band will release expanded and deluxe versions of Rumours with previously unreleased studio and live tracks through Rhino on January 29. The expanded edition’s three CDs includes the original album and the b-side “Silver Springs,” a dozen unreleased live recordings from the group’s 1977 world tour, and an entire disc filled with unreleased takes from the album’s recording sessions. The deluxe edition includes all of the music from expanded version, plus an additional disc of outtakes a DVD that features “The Rosebud Film”, a 1977 documentary about the album, and the album on vinyl. Digital versions will also be available.

Following the show in Boston, Fleetwood Mac will travel south to Connecticut for a performance at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville on Saturday, April 20. Tickets for the show will go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $125 and $155.

Each released news albums in 2011 (Nicks with In Your Dreams and Buckingham with Seeds We Sow) and toured extensively. Fleetwoods’ side project, The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band, was nominated for a Grammy in 2010 for their album Blue Again. He also was busy with his on his business affairs, opening a new restaurant in Hawaii and expanding his private cellar wine label. McVie focused his time with family in Hawaii.
