Fitz and The Tantrums will swing through Massachusetts on their upcoming fall tour. The rising soul rockers will stop in Boston for a performance at the House of Blues on Friday, November 11. Tickets for the show are no on sale through Live Nation for $30.

Led by frontman Michael Fitzpatrick, Fitz and The Tantrums continue to tour in support of their debut album Pickin’ Up the Pieces. Released in August 2010, the album went on to hit #1 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers chart. Produced by Chris Seefried and Fitzpatrick, Pickin’ Up the Pieces  was recorded Fitzpatrick’s living room, which he dubbed “Dillon Street Studios”. Fans can download a free MP3 of “Don’t Gotta Work It Out,” the album’s latest single, at the band’s site.

On the tour, fans may also get the chance to hear some new material as Fitz and The Tantrums are currently working on their highly anticipated sophomore release, which is expected to hit stores sometime in 2012.

“We’re all hungry to get new songs in there,” Fitzpatrick said in a recent interview with Knoxville’s Metro Pulse. “I’m surprised that I’m not tired of playing these songs. But I love them so much and have such a good time playing them, and when you have an audience that’s as into it as our fans have been, i’’s just hard not to stay connected to it.”

Alongside Fitzpatrick, The Tantrums features Noelle Scaggs (vocals, percusiion), Joseph Karnes (bass),James King (saxophone), Jeremy Ruzumna (keyboards) and John Wicks (drums).

The upcoming House of Blues show will mark the band’s third show in Boston this year, having played the Paradise Rock Club in June and the Brighton Music Hall in January.
