First set of Grammy performers revealed

Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum and Maxwell are among the first list of performers announced for the 52nd annual Grammy Awards ceremony, which CBS will air live from the Staples Center on Sunday, January 31.

Beyoncé and Swift will face off against one another with a combined eighteen nominations, including the top three categories of Album, Record and Song of the Year, as well as Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. The Black Eyed Peas and Maxwell followed up with six nominations and country trio and winner of Country Music Association’s Vocal Group of the year, Lady Antebellum round out the group with two nominations.

Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Grammys are also awarding fans with the opportunity to perform on the show. Think that you have the stuff to perform on music’s biggest night, then upload a 20-second video of you singing along to a portion of the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling” for a chance to have the video used during the group’s performance.
