After a crowd-pleasing set at last weekend’s Life is good Festival in Canton, Eric Hutchinson gas revealed plans to return to Massachusetts this fall as part of his “Almost Solo Tour”. Joined by his longtime band member, multi-instrumentalist Elliott Blaufuss, Hutchinson will perform at the Somerville Theatre on Saturday, October 27. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster for $25.

“When I was starting out, I would play rooms that let me get so personal with the audience – that feeling is totally energizing,” explained Hutchinson in a press release. “On the ‘Almost Solo Tour’, we’re going to strip the songs to their roots, share some stories, and get up close and personal!”

Prior to the show in Somerville, Hutchinson will perform a sold out show at the Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry, New Hampshire on Friday, October 26. He’ll also stop in Burlington, Vermont for a show at Higher Ground on October 28.

Hutchinson continues to promote his sophomore release, Moving Up, Living Down. Released in April, the follow-up to his 2008 debut Sounds Like This was produced by Mike Elizondo (Eminem, Regina Spektor) and Martin Terefe (Jason Mraz, James Morrison). It hasĀ  been powered by the success of hit single “Watching You Watch Him”. Earlier this year, the song caught the attention of impressionist Jim Meskimen who then created a video of him reciting the song’s lyrics in a variety of characters such as Robert De Niro, Alec Baldwin, Ricky Gervais, George W. Bush and more. The video can be found here.
