Elton John has announced that he’ll hit Massachusetts next year for a special show in Worcester. John and his band will play the DCU Center on Saturday, March 12. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $29 to $139, go on sale Monday at 10 a.m.

The shows is being billed as a “Greatest Hits Live” concert, as John plans on performing his number one hits and classic album tracks from throughout his five-decade career. Additionally, fans can expect John to perform a few selections from his most recent release, The Union, a collaborative effort with Leon Russell. John’s band includes Davey Johnstone on guitar, Bob Birch on bass, John Mahon on percussion, Nigel Olsson on drums, and Kim Bullard on keyboards.

John was recently in the area when he and Russell performed material off The Union for the very first time as part of T Bone Burnett’s Speaking Clock Revue benefit concert at the Citi Wang Theatre in October.

The Worcester show will mark John’s eighth concert at the DCU Center and first in over 22 years.
