Ed Sheeran maps stateside tour

Ed Sheeran has announced plans for a stateside tour in support of his forthcoming album, x. The English singer-songwriter will launch his first-ever headlining arena tour of North America in late August and make his way to Massachusetts for a performance at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield on Tuesday, September 9. Tickets for the concert, which range in price from $29.50 to $59.50, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

x (pronounced “multiply”), Sheeran’s sophomore album, is slated to hit stores on June 23. Fans can get a taste of the new material with lead single “Sing”, which is streaming below. The song was produced and co-written by Pharrell Williams. Sheeran collaborated with a team of producers for x, including Rick Rubin, Jeff Bhasker, Benny Blanco, Jake Gosling and Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid.

Sheeran’s 2011 debut album + entered the UK Albums Chart at #1 with the highest opening sales figures for a debut male solo artist ever and is now certified 6x-platinum. The album has been fueled by international hit singles “The A Team” and “Lego House”.
