Earth, Wind & Fire to bring 40th Anniversary to MA
Earth, Wind & Fire will extend their ongoing 40th Anniversary World Tour through the beginning of July. The legendary Pop/R&B group will play the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston on Friday, June 24. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $31 to $76, are now on sale through Live Nation.
Since forming in Chicago in 1969, Earth, Wind & Fire have gone on to become one of music’s best selling and most influential acts. Over its 40 year history, the group has released 23 albums, including eight double-platinum, Top-10 pop albums, selling over 90 million albums worldwide. The band has received 20 Grammy nominations and six wins, as well as 12 American Music Award nominations and four wins. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 and into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003.
Earth, Wind & Fire are currently led by original members Philip Bailey (vocals), Verdine White (bass) and Ralph Johnson (percussion, vocals). The group’s last offering of new material was 2005′s Illumination.
Following their show in Boston, Earth, Wind & Fire will make their way to Western Massachusetts for a performance at Tanglewood’s Koussevitzky Music Shed in Lenox. Tickets for the group’s June 25 performance, which range in price from $22 to $75, are now on sale through the venue’s box office and website.
