Duncan Sheik will soon hit the road for a tour of the Northeast to close out 2011. He’ll make his way to Massachusetts for a pair of shows on each side of the state later this month.

Fans can first catch him at the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton on Monday, December 12. Tickets are now on sale through the venue’s box office and website for $22.50. Two days later, he’ll perform at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River. Tickets are now on sale through the venue’s box office and website for $20.

Sheik is touring in support of his latest album, Covers 80’s. Released in June, the singer-songwriters’s seventh studio effort is comprised entirely of re-worked renditions of songs from the 80’s synth-popĀ  artists including Depeche Mode, Thompson Twins, New Order and Tears for Fears. Holly Brook, who appeared on Sheik’s album Whisper House, and Rachael Yamagata, who has toured with Sheik for various concerts, contribute backing vocals throughout this album.

In June, Sheik cancelled a summer tour that was scheduled to hit Boston’s Brighton Music Hall after entering a treatment center for alcoholism.
