The Dukes of September Rhythm Revue are back for more. After a successful tour in 2010, the trio of Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald guitarist Boz Scaggs are teaming up again to bring their rhythm and blues project on the road for another summer outing.

The group will hit Massachusetts for a show at Boston’s Citi Wang Theatre on Thursday, August 9. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $45.75 to $125.75, will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Telecharge. A special pre-sale will take place on Friday from 10 a.m. through 10 p.m. To take part, just use the promo code: “CITISOC”.

Just as they did in 2010, the ensemble is expected to perform a collection of hits from the members’ careers as well as a wide variety of covers including classic rock, rhythm and blues, and Motown hits from the ’60s and ’70s.

Fagen is the co-founder, lead singer, and the principal songwriter of Steely Dan. McDonald, a five-time Grammy Award winner, began his career singing back-up vocals with Steely Dan, later joined the Doobie Brothers from 1976 to 1981 and has since enjoyed a successful solo career. Scaggs, a renowned guitarist, spent a couple of years in the Steve Miller Band but is best known for his solo work.

The Dukes of September Rhythm Revue history dates back to the early 90’s when Fagen initially formed the group under the name “The New York Rock and Roll Soul Revue” when when Steely Dan was on hiatus.
