Dropkick Murphys reveal St. Patrick’s Day 2011 plans

It’s not even Thanksgiving but the Dropkick Murphys have set their eyes on the band’s annual St. Patrick’s Day festivities. The band will celebrate with a pair of shows at the House of Blues in Boston on Thursday and Friday, March 17 and 18 before rocking the Tsongas Center in Lowell on Saturday, March 18. Tickets for the House of Blues shows are priced at $32.50 and $52.50 and go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation, while tickets for the show in Lowell are set at $33.50 and go on sale at the same through the venue’s box office.

The Dropkick Murphys are currently busy working in the studio writing new material for an album which they plan to release in conjunction with the St Patrick’s Day tour. Earlier this year, the band released Live on Lansdowne, Boston MA. The album is comprised of 20 fan favorites recorded at the band’s seven shows at Boston’s House of Blues in March of 2009.The band’s last studio effort was 2007’s The Meanest Of Times.

Last month, the band released a new video for “Tomorrow’s Industry”. The video, which can is available below, as created through a unique collaboration with Boston hospital workers as part of their campaign to join Local 1199 of the Service Employees International Union for a voice at work.
