Dropkick Murphys add show, Against Me! to St. Patrick’s Day week

After selling out two nights at the House of Blues, the Dropkick Murphys have added another club to to their St. Patrick’s Day week festivities in Boston. The band will now play the House of Blues on Wednesday, March 16. Tickets for the show will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation for $32.50 and $52.50.

Along with the extra Boston date, the band announced this week that they will be joined by Against Me! for all dates on their 2011 tour including the shows at the House of Blues and their show Lowell’s Tsongas Center on Saturday, March 19. Tickets for the Lowell show are now on sale through the venue’s box office and website for $33.50.

The Dropkick Murphys are currently busy working in the studio writing new material for an album which they plan to release in conjunction with the St Patrick’s Day tour. A formal announcement regarding the release of the new album is forthcoming. Earlier this year, the band released Live on Lansdowne, Boston MA. The album is comprised of 20 fan favorites recorded at the band’s seven shows at Boston’s House of Blues in March of 2009.The band’s last studio effort was 2007′s The Meanest Of Times.

Florida-based punk rockers Against Me! released their fifth studio album, White Crosses, earlier this summer. Produced by Butch Vig, the new album follows their highly acclaimed 2007 release, New Wave. It is also the first Against Me! album to feature George Rebelo, former drummer of Hot Water Music, following the departure of previous drummer Warren Oakes.
