Dream Theater have revealed plans to hit the road to promote their latest self-titled album. The Berklee-bred band will bring their “Along For The Ride” tour back to Massachusetts for a special performance at the Boston Opera House on Tuesday, March 25. Tickets for the concert, which range in price from $32 to $77, are now on sale through Ticketmaster.

To make the Boston show extra special, Dream Theater plans to record the performance for release later this year. The band will also be joined by special guest ensembles the Berklee World Strings and the Berklee Concert Choir for the second half of the set.

“We are all really pumped and excited to bring our new live show to North America and to take all of our amazing fans ‘Along For The Ride’!,” declared guitarist John Petrucci in a press release. “Returning to the ‘An Evening With’ format will enable us to deliver the best DT live experience yet with time for lots of music, and we can’t wait to share it with all of you. With this tour, our goal is for you to be able to step into the world of Dream Theater from the moment you enter the venue. We hope to create an intense and stimulating night both musically and visually and have prepared some really cool things this time around. We’ll be premiering some songs we’ve never played live before, as well as featured tracks from our latest self-titled release and plenty of classic DT songs for all of our long time and hard-core fans. We are all looking forward to a great night of music and super-psyched to kick it all off!”

Dream Theater, the band’s twelfth studio effort and follow-up to 2011’s A Dramatic Turn of Events, was released in September. It debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200 and topped Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart. The album was recorded at Cove City Sound Studios in Glen Cove, New York with Petrucci producing and Richard Chycki (Aerosmith, Rush) engineering and mixing. Dream Theater’s lead single “The Enemy Inside” (streaming below) has received a Grammy Award nomination for “Best Metal Performance”.

Dream Theater was founded in 1985 when founding members guitarist John Petrucci, bassist John Myung, and former drummer Mike Portnoy attended Berklee College of Music.
