Drake maps summer tour J. Cole
Drake has announced an extension of his “Club Paradise” tour that will continue into summer. The Toronto native will hit Massachusetts for a performance at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Sunday, June 17 with special guest J. Cole. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $28.25 to $92.50, will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation. Woka Flocka Flame, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz and French Montana will also perform.
“I feel like this tour is coming at the perfect time,” said Drake, who recently completed the first leg of the tour with Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky, in a press release. “It’s taking place in the season that we all wait for, we’re outdoors and you’ve got every single artist you wait to hear in the club on one bill… that’s Club Paradise.”
Fans will get a chance to hear material from Drake’s sophomore album, Take Care. Released last November, the follow-up to 2010′s Thank Me Later debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. Drake is joined by a plethora of special guests on Take Care including Rihanna, Lil Wayne, Andre 3000, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Birdman and The Weeknd. It features single “Headlines”, “Make Me Proud”, “The Motto” and “Take Care”. The video for the title track is streaming below.
J. Cole will be touring in support of his debut studio album, Cole World: The Sideline Story. Following three successful mixtapes, his debut album was released last September and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. Production was handled mainly by Cole with some help from producer No I.D. Cole World: The Sideline Story includes guest appearances from Trey Songz, Drake, Missy Elliott and his mentor Jay-Z. It has been powered by hit singles “Work Out”, “Can’t Get Enough” and “Mr. Nice Watch”. The North Carolina-based rapper was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best New Artist category earlier this year.
The tour will also stop at the Comcast Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut on Monday, June 11.
