Dr. John to play Bull Run before Rock Hall induction

Just over a week before he’ll be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Dr. John will make his way to Massachusetts to deliver an intimate show at the Bull Run Restaurant in Shirley. Tickets for the Sunday, March 6 are still available through the venue’s official website for $75.

Dr. John and The Lower 911 continue to tour in support 2010’s Tribal, which was nominated for a Grammy award in the Contemporary Blues Album category. A five-time GRAMMY winner, Dr. John also earned a Grammy nomination this year in the Best Song Written for Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media category for his rendition of Randy Newman’s “Down in New Orleans”. The “Tremé” soundtrack, to which Dr. John contributed the track “Indian Red”, was also nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.

The 2011 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place place at The Waldorf-Astoria on March 14. At the ceremony, which will will be televised on Fuse on Sunday, March 20 at 9 p.m., Dr. John will be inducted by John Legend.
