Dr. Dog have revealed plans for a tour in support of their forthcoming release, Be The Void. The Philadelphia-based rockers will hit Boston for a show a the House of Blues on Thursday, March 22. Tickets are now on sale through Live Nation for $22.50 and $35.

Be The Void, Dr. Dog’s sixth studio effort and follow-up to 2010’s Shame, Shame, is scheduled to hit stores on February 7. It is the band’s first album to feature drummer Eric Slick and percussionist Dimitri Manos, who had previously played with Golden Boots, Easy Beat and Juston Stens. The band says they hit the studio to record Be The Void with a renewed sense of confidence.

“We would just get in the pocket and go with it because it sounded great,” explained bassist-vocalist Toby Leaman in a press release. “There wasn’t this endless deliberating. We just went with our gut feelings on things.”

“It was reminiscent of when we were starting out and were these fearless weirdoes in a basement, so confident and reckless and bold,” added guitarist-vocalist Scott McMicken. “It was really liberating.”
