Dr. Dog have revealed plans for a fall tour as they continue to promote their latest album, Be The Void. The Philadelphia-based rockers will hit Boston for a show at Royale on Friday, September 21. Tickets for the show, which will also feature openers Cotton Jones, are available through Ticketmaster for $28.

Be The Void, Dr. Dog’s sixth studio effort and follow-up to 2010’s Shame, Shame, was released in February. The album is said to be a combination of the group’s crafted pop aspects and a more raw and primal sound that represents the energy of their lives shows. The band entered the studio with a set focus and renewed confidence. Guitarist and vocalist Scott McMicken explained in a press release, “It was reminiscent of when we were starting out and were these fearless weirdos in a basement, so confident and reckless and bold.”

Prior to the show in Boston, Dr. Dog will perform at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island on Wednesday, September 19. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $23 to $32.50, are available through eTix. The band will also perform at the Stare Theatre in Portland, Maine on Tuesday, September 18.
