Dispatch make summer plans with Guster

Dispatch and Guster, a pair of Massachusetts-bred favorites, have announced plans to join forces for a handful of summer shows. The veteran bands will deliver a homecoming performance at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Saturday, June 8. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at noon through Live Nation for $27.50 and $42.

The tour will continue Disptach’s support of their latest release, 2012’s Circles Around The Sun. Produced by Peter Katis (Interpol, The National), first full length studio album since 2000’s Who Are We Living For? was recorded at The Clubhouse (Rhinebeck, NY), Water Music (Hoboken, NJ), and Tarquin Studios (Bridgeport, CT). The video for the album’s title track and lead single is streaming below.

Dispatch also released an iTunes Session EP at the end of 2012. The eight-track release is comprised of seven classic Dispatch tracks re-recorded for iTunes and a cover of Paul Simon’s “Mother and Child Reunion”.

Along with the Massachusetts show, Guster will provide support for Dispatch in Boston and Berkeley, California. It will mark the first time the two bands have performed a show together.

Earlier this month, Guster self-released Live Acoustic. The collection features 16 live recordings from various shows during their 2012 acoustic tour. The band’s last offering of new material was 2010’s Easy Wonderful.
