Dinosaur Jr. to play Bug at the Paradise

Veteran Massachusetts  rockers Dinosaur Jr. will be returning to Boston on Wednesday, June 22 to play their classic album Bug in it’s entirety at the Paradise Rock Club. Tickets for the show, priced at $33, go on-sale this Friday at noon through Ticketmaster.  Henry Rollins will also be on hand to interview the band on stage prior to their performance and after an opening set from Off!.

Bug, the band’s the third album, was released in October 1988 through SST Records. It was the last Dinosaur Jr album with original bassist Lou Barlow until Beyond in 2007. Engineered by Paul Q. Kolderie and Sean Slade, Bug was recorded at at Fort Apache Studios.  It was powered by the  hit single “Freak Scene”.

After disbanding in 1997, Dinosaur Jr. reformed in 2005 and has since produced two albums, the latest being 2009’s Farm. The band currently consists of all three original members, J Mascis, Lou Barlow, and Murph.
