Deftones have announced plans for a Boston show as part of their Diamond Eyes North American tour. The Grammy- winning band will play the House of Blues on Monday, May 9. Tickets for the show, which are $28 and $38, are available through the venue’s box office, website and LiveNation.com.

One of the most enduring and influential forces in modern rock are touring in support of their 2010 album Diamond Eyes. The album, which was recently named the 2010 Rock Record of the Year by ITunes, is the band’s first album since bassist Chi Cheng sustained a debilitating brain injury in a car accident in November of 2008. “After Chi’s accident, it would have been easy for us to make a sad record,” says singer and guitarist Chino Moreno. “But really, this is an optimistic record.”

After Cheng’s accident, the website www.oneloveforchi.com was launched and serves as the vehicle for updates and information on Cheng’s condition, as well as serving as an auction site for items donated by friends of the band. All proceeds raised by the One Love for Chi website are donated to his family in order to provide him the best possible medical care. Currently, the drumkit and keyboard used in video shoot for “You’ve Seen The Butcher” are available for auction.

Dillinger Escape Plan will open the show in Boston.
