In a tour that is sure to please fans of 80’s rock, Def Leppard and Poison are joining forces for a summer outing this year. The “Rock of Ages” tour will make its way to Massachusetts for a night at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Saturday, August 18. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $20 to $125, will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation. Fellow 80’s rock favorite Lita Ford will open the show.

The upcoming tour will reprise the band’s co-headlining tour three years ago. In a press release, Joe Elliot declared, “We had such a good time going out with Poison in 2009, that we thought it only right to do it again!”

Def Leppard, who toured with Heart last summer, continue to promote their first live album, Mirrorball. Released last June, the album is comprised of fan favorites recorded during the band’s 2008-09 tour in support of their most recent studio album, Songs from the Sparkle Lounge. Mirrorball also features three new studio songs: “Undefeated”, “It’s All About Believin'” and “Kings of the World”.

Poison, who toured with Motley Crue last summer, will also be expected to deliver a set packed with greatest hits. To mark their 25th anniversary, the band released a new greatest hits compilation last year. Double Dose Of Poison: Ultimate Hits, features 35 of the band’s top hits and fan favorites on two discs.
