Death Cab For Cutie to play the Paradise Rock Club

Death Cab for Cutie have revealed plans to perform a series of intimate shows in select cities this spring to preview material off their forthcoming album, Codes and Keys. Fans in Boston can catch the Seattle-based rockers at the Paradise Rock Club on Sunday, June 5. Tickets for the show will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. though Ticketmaster. The Lonely Forest will open the show. A very limited number of pre-sale tickets will be made available to members of the band’s official fan club, DCFC Union Local #1138, beginning today.

Codes and Keys, Death Cab For Cutie’s seventh full-length studio release and first since 2008’s Narrow Stairs, will hit stores on May 31. In 2009, the band released The Open Door EP, which earned them their third consecutive Grammy Award nomination for Best Alternative Album. Also on May 31, Death Cab For Cutie will released a concert DVD, Live At The Mt. Baker Theatre. The film is comprised of footage from the band’s homecoming shows in Bellingham, Washington along with interviews with band members. Fans can pre-order both items through a variety of packages through the band’s official website.

In related news, Death Cab for Cutie is scheduled to film an installment of VH1’s acclaimed series, “Storytellers”.  Full details and broadcast information will be released shortly.
