Currently on the road with the legendary Bob Dylan, Dawes have announced plans for a series of headlining gigs this summer in support of their brand new album, Stories Don’t End. The California-based rockers will return to Massachusetts for a performance at Boston’s Royale on Friday, June 21. Tickets for the show, which will also feature openers Shovels & Rope, will go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster for $27.

Stories Don’t End, Dawes’ third studio effort and follow-up to 2011’s Nothing Is Wrong, was released last week. Produced by Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Kings of Leon), it was recorded at Echo Mountain Studio in Asheville, North Carolina. The 12-song disc is book-ended in classic album fashion by two very different versions of the song “Just Beneath The Surface”. The video for lead single “From a Window Seat” is streaming below.

Last month, Dawes visited refugee camps in Rwandawith the United Nations Foundation’s Nothing But Nets campaign to help raise awareness and funds to fight malaria in sub-Saharan Africa. Guitarist and vocalist Taylor Goldsmith, drummer Griffin Goldsmith, bassist Wylie Gelber, and keyboardist Tay Strathairn helped distribute life-saving bed nets to help protect refugee families from malaria and performed with local musicians.
