David Byrne has revealed plans for a collaborative release with St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark) and subsequent tour in support of the forthcoming album. The founding member of the Talking Heads and the longtime indie favorite will stop in Boston for a performance at the Orpheum Theatre on Sunday, September 23. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $39.50 to $59.50, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

The two will tour in support of their forthcoming collaborative album Love This Giant, which will be released on September 11. Byrne and Clark began collaborating after meeting in 2009 at the “Dark Was the Night” benefit at Radio City Music Hall. Shortly thereafter, they were approached by Housing Works Bookstore to perform together. Since then, they’ve had a professional relationship, allowing the two to share ideas and create a partnership that resulted in the upcoming album.

Love This Giant was recorded over two years largely at Water Music in Hoboken, New Jersey. In addition to splitting vocal duties, Byrne and Clark co-wrote ten of the album’s twelve tracks, along with one song they penned individually.

“There was no delineating what the roles were,” said Clark in a press release. “It’s a collaboration I’m truly proud of.”

On the upcoming tour, fans can expect to head the duo perform a wide range of material.

“We’ll be doing these songs and a bunch of songs that we suspect people will know, with a group that includes eight brass players, a keyboardist and a drummer,” explained Byrne in a press release.
