Dates set for 2011 New England Summer Festivals

Local music fans can start marking their calendars for summer fun as a handful of New England-based major festivalsĀ  – including the Nateva Music & Camping Festival, Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival and the Newport Folk and Jazz Festivals – have announced the dates for their 2011 festivals.

The Nateva Music and Camping Festival will return to Oxford, Maine for its sophomore edition. The festival, which debuted last year during the 4th of July weekend, will take place from August 4 through 7 with a lineup expected to be announced later this year. Three-day weekend passes, which will include access to the festival with camping and parking, are now available at the first-tiered price of $157 plus ticketing fees. A 4-day festival pass, which will grant access to the festival’s kick-off concert on Thursday, August 4 are now available for $182 plus ticketing fees. VIP passes, which include special seating and camping areas along with a variety of special amenities and goods, are now available for $425 plus ticketing fees. Tickets can be purchased through the eTix.com. Children under 16 are not allowed at the festival unless accompanied by an adult, while children 10 and under are free with a paid adult.

Wilco has announced that they will once again curate and host the Solid Sound Festival at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams during the weekend of June 24 through 26. More details including ticket information will be released later this month. The Chicago-based band debuted the festival last summer to wide acclaim amongst attendees.

Festival co-founder George Wein recently announced the dates for the 2011 editions of the historic Newport Folk and Jazz Festivals. The Folk festival will be held during the weekend of July 29 through 31, while the Jazz festival is set for the weekend of August 5 through 7. Ticket information and lineups will be announced later this year.
