Coheed and Cambria to play Providence

Coheed and Cambria will hit Rhode Island next month as part of the WBRU Dunkin’ Donuts Summer Concert Series. The band will be joined by Boston natives The Dear Hunter for a show at the Bank of America City Center in downtown Providence on Saturday, September 4. Tickets for the show are on sale now through etix.com for $25.

The New York rockers are touring in support of their new album, Year of the Black Rainbow. Released last April, band’s fifth studio effort debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200. It also marks the debut of the band’s new drummer Chris Pennie. Year of the Black Rainbow completes the main story of The Armory Wars, with has been told through each of the band’s four previous albums. The new album is a prequel to the story, falling before the band’s 2002 debut album The Second Stage Turbine Blade in the storyline.
