Clutch have announced plans to release a new album called Earth Rocker in 2013. The Maryland-based rockers will road test the new material with several shows before the end of the year, including a special New Year’s Eve show in Massachusetts. The band will perform at The Palladium in Worcester on Monday, December 31. Tickets for the show are on sale through eTix for the advance price of $20 through December 25 and $25 from December 26 through 30.

Earth Rocker, Clutch’s tenth studio effort and follow-up to 2009’s Strange Cousins from the West, is scheduled for a worldwide release in March of 2013 on the band’s label Weathermaker Music. The band recently completed tracking Earth Rocker with Machine handling all production duties.

“It has a lot in common with Blast Tyrant in that Machine’s production techniques are really unique,” said frontman Neil Fallon in a press release. “It differs from Blast Tyrant and a lot of other Clutch records in that, overall, the songs are faster and concise.”

Guitarist Tim Sult added, “As far as the composition of the songs go, this is the heaviest and fastest Clutch album to date.”
