Christina Aguilera to play the Comcast Center

Christina Aguilera has revealed plans for a summer tour in support of her forthcoming album, Bionic. The pop star will play the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Saturday, July 31 with special  guest Leona Lewis. Tickets, which range in price from $23.75 to $139.50, go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation. Fans who order tickets before June 4 will be treated to a digital copy of the new album the day before it is available in stores.

The album is Aguilera’s fourth studio effort, and her first in four since the 2006′ Back to Basics. Produced by Christopher “Tricky” Stewart (Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey) and Ester Dean (Chris Brown, Rihanna), the new album features collaborations with M.I.A., Peaches, and Sia. “Not Myself Tonight”, the first single off Bionic, was released last month and is streaming on her MySpace. This summer’s tour will kick off at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut on Thursday, July 15.

Every ticket purchased will receive an individual code valid for one download of Bionic. Ticket buyers will receive an email confirmation, followed by a specific code to download the album on June 7, the day before the album is available in stores.

Aguilera will also make her major film debut in Burlesque later this year with co-stars Cher, Stanley Tucci, Kristen Bell and Cam Gigandet.

Most recently, Aguilera was been at the center of a media swarm after her comments regarding Lady Gaga in an issue of Out magazine. She later disclosed a note insisting that some quotes were taken out of context, and applauding Lady Gaga for her success and uniqueness of style.
