Chris Robinson to bring new band to Somerville

, Staff

Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson has announced tour dates for his side project, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood. The band, who recently opened for The J. Geils Band at the Bank of America Pavilion, will visit Massachusetts for a show at the Somerville Theatre on Saturday, November 19. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $24.

“We’ll be playing a bunch of new songs I have been working on and will be digging deep into what is happening at that musical moment,” Robinson said on the project’s website. “There will be old stuff that I’ve done and a handful of covers that just feel right.”

The Chris Robinson Brotherhood features keyboardist Adam MacDougall (also of the Black Crowes), drummer George Sluppick, bassist Mark Dutton and guitarist Neal Casal. Robinson began working on the new project shortly after The Black Crowes announced their hiatus at the end of last year.
