Chris Robinson Brotherhood to play the Paradise

With two new albums to support, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood will return to the road this fall for a tour that hits Massachusetts next month. The former Black Crowes frontman will lead his new band to Boston for a show at the Paradise Rock Club on Thursday, November 8. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $25.

The tour follows the release of The Magic Door, Chris Robinson Brotherhood’s sophomore studio effort. Released last month, it marks the band’s second release of year following June’s Big Moon Ritual. Both albums were recorded at the same time with producer Thom Monahan. The Magic Door features a cover of Hank Ballard’s “Let’s Go, Let’s Go, Let’s Go”, as well as a pair of Black Crowes songs in “Appaloosa” and “Little Lizzie Mae”.

“I would say very early on in the recording–within the first two days,” said Robinson in a press release of the moment he realized two albums would emerge from the recording sessions. “Thom had encouraged us to remain true to the arrangements we had been playing all year on the road. We inevitably had some longer pieces and felt that the performances were strong enough that we didn’t want to edit them for any extraneous reasons.”

Aside from Robinson himself, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood is comprised of Neal Casal (guitar, vocals), Adam MacDougall (keys, vocals), George Sluppick (drums) and Mark Dutton (bass, vocals).
