Chris Isaak will return to New England next month as he continues to tour in support of his latest album, Beyond the Sun. He’ll make his way to Massachusetts for a performance at Boston’s Orpheum Theatre on Sunday, November 11. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $39.50 to $49.50, are available through Ticketmaster.

Prior to the show in Boston, Isaak will close out the 2012 concert series at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in New Hampshire on Saturday, November 10. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $30 to $66, are available through Ticketmaster. Isaak will also perform a show at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield, Connecticut on Wednesday, November 7.

Beyond the Sun, Isaak’s tenth studio effort and follow-up to 2009’s Mr. Lucky, was released last October. The album is primarily a collection of songs recorded by Sun Records artists Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. Produced by Isaak, Beyond the Sun was recorded mostly at the historic Sun Studio in Memphis with his longtime band—bass player Rowland Salley and drummer Kenney Dale Johnson, guitarist Hershel Yatovitz, pianist Scott Plunkett and percussionist Rafael Padilla. The album also features a guest performance by the Memphis legend, “Cowboy” Jack Clement.

Isaak also penned an original song called “Live It Up” for Beyond the Sun. “When we were doing the record, I kept learning things,” explained Isaak in a press release. “For instance, nothing on those early records has a rock beat—it’s all shuffle and stripper beat. I wrote ‘Live It Up’ to put a rock beat on the record, so that that beat too is represented.”

On November 20, Isaak will release a concert DVD called “Chris Isaak Live! Beyond The Sun”. The film captures his performance at the Moody Theater in Austin, Texas on February 13, 2012, as well as variety of bonus footage. Fans can get a preview of the DVD with the video for “Live It Up”, which is streaming below.
