Cat Power plots fall tour

Chan Marshall, better known as Cat Power has announced a tour in support of her new studio album, Sun. The indie rock veteran will make her way to Massachusetts for a performance at Boston’s House of Blues on Wednesday, October 24. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Live Nation for $34.50 and $45.

Sun, Power’s ninth studio effort and first of all-original material since 2006’s The Greatest, will hit stores on September 4. Power wrote, played, recorded and produced the entirety of Sun by herself. She worked on the album in various locations including a studio she built in Malibu. Fans can get a taste of the album with a pair of recently released songs: “Ruin” (available on iTunes) and “Cherokee” (free on her website).
