Despite what the frigid weather may indicate, summer is around the corner. Organizers for the summer concert season at the Cape Cod Melody Tent and the South Shore Music Circus are busy booking an array of acts and have revealed the first set of performers scheduled to stop in Hyannis and Cohasset.

Perennial favorites Chris Botti, The Beach Boys, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, The Temptations and The Four Tops dominate the first set of scheduled performers for both the Melody Tent in Hyannis and the Music Circus in Cohasset. Tickets for each of the shows will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through each of the venue’s websites (Ticketmaster will no longer be the venue’s ticket provider).

Jazz Trumpeter Chris Botti will continue touring this summer in support of his latest album, 2012’s Impressions. Released last April, Botti’s tenth studio effort debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Jazz Albums chart. It features special gusts Andrea Bocelli, Vince Gill, Herbie Hancock, Caroline Campbell, David Foster and Mark Knopfler. Botti will perform at the Melody Tent on Friday, August 2 and the Music Circus on Saturday, August 3. Tickets will be available for $43.25 and $63.25.

After reuniting with band’s original lineup (featuring¬†with Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks ) for a 50th anniversary reunion last summer, Mike Love and Bruce Johnston will return to their pre-reunion Beach Boys line-up in 2013. The group will hit Massachusetts on Saturday, August 17 for an afternoon matinee at the Melody Tent and an evening show at the Music Circus. Tickets will be available for $45.75 and $65.75

Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons will return to the Music Circus on Friday, August 23 and the Melody Tent on Sunday, August 25. Tickets will be available for $67.25, $87.25 and $106.25.

The Temptations and The Four Tops will resume their successful co-headlining tour and hit the Music Circus on Saturday, July 27 and the Melody Tent on Sunday, July 28. Tickets will be available for $45.75 and $65.75.

Also scheduled to perform at both venues is Beatles tribute band The Fab Four with shows scheduled for the Music Circus on Friday, July 18 and the Melody Tent on Saturday, July 20. Tickets will be available for $31.25 and $51.25.

Along with the slate of concerts, organizers have also announced performances from comedians Jeff Dunham (Music Circus on Friday, August 9 and Melody Tent on Saturday, August 10) and Ron White (Melody Tent on Thursday, August 15 and Music Circus on Friday, August 16).

More shows will be added to the lineup for both venues over the next couple of months.

The Cape Cod Melody Tent and the South Shore Music Circus are both operated by South Shore Playhouse Associates (SSPA), a not-for-profit organization that supports arts and education in southeastern Massachusetts. Every seat for both venues is within 50 feet of the stage.
