Melody Tent adds shows with Marley, Lewis and Allman

The lineup for this summer’s concert series at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis continues to heat up with announcements this week that Stephen Marley, Aaron Lewis of Staind and Gregg Allman will all pay the intimate venue. Perennial Summertime favorites The Saw Doctors have added a second show as well. Tickets for each of the new shows will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Stepehn Marley, the son of reggae icon Bob Marley, will bring his “Root of Life” tour to Hyannis on Wednesday, July 13. Marley will be touring in support of his forthcoming album, Revelation Part 1: The Root of Life, which is set for release on May 24. A follow-up to the Root of Life entitled, Revelation Part 2: The Fruit of Life, is rumored for release later in the year. Tickets for the show are $28.25 and $46.25.

Aaron Lewis, best known as the frontman for Springfield-based rockers Staind, will perform at the Melody Tent on Thursday, July 28. He’ll be touring this summer in support of his debut country solo EP, Town Line. Powered by the hit single “Country Boy”, the album debuted at #1 on the Top Country Albums chart, as well as #3 on the Top Rock Albums and #7 on the Billboard 200 after its release in March. Tickets for the show are $34.25    and $52.25.

Gregg Allman of The Allman Brothers Band will rock a solo show in Hyannis on Wednesday, August 31. Allman is back on the road to promote his brand new album, Low Country Blues. The new album, his first solo release in 14 years, was produced by T Bone Burnett. It is comprised of twelve songs by some of the blues giants whose work has long influenced his own, from Muddy Waters and BB King to Buddy Guy and Magic Sam. Low Country Blues features Dr. John on piano, guitarist Doyle Bramhall II,  bassist Dennis Crouch and drummer Jay Bellerose. Tickets for the show are $40.75 and $58.75.

The Saw Doctors will turn their perennial August visit into a two-night stand with a second show now scheduled for Friday, August 12. The Irish rockers will be promoting their latest release, The Further Adventures of The Saw Doctors. Tickets for the show are $36 and $54.

Over at the South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset, the Melody Tent’s sister venue, Martina McBride has officially announced plans for a second show. The newly announced show will take place on Saturday, August 6. The veteran country star is expected to release a new album, her eleventh studio effort, later this year. Tickets for the show are $73.25 and $91.25.

Also taking place at the Music Circus will be a performance from Linda Eder on August 12. The acclaimed singer will be touring in support of her new album, Now. Tickets for the show are  $33.25 and $51.25.
